TeachSpecialEd.com is an Internet-based program developed for use as a part of special education certification, as well as for ongoing professional development. It is designed for those who are preparing to teach, or are currently teaching, students with mild and moderate disabilities. TeachSpecialEd.com offers three enrollment options:

   1. A comprehensive ten-course curriculum
   2. Individual courses
   3. Individual modules

The result of a partnership between Sopris West Educational Services and e-Learning Creations, TeachSpecialEd.com courses are based on the Council for Exceptional Children’s and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education’s standards for special education certification.

The online courses were created using the instructional design developed by the Online Academy Project at the University of Kansas. This design has been extensively tested by teacher education programs and reviewed by experts nationally. The result is a content-rich, standards-based program offered through user-friendly, thoroughly tested, online instruction.

TeachSpecialEd.com brings special education certification and ongoing professional development within reach, assuring both prospective and current special educators sound, proven, and practical training.
